Our mass communications systems have evolved considerably in recent decades. A growing share of people’s attention and more of society’s important discussions are now taking place on new media. How can scholars incorporate these technological changes in their own endeavors to generate and disseminate information and educational programming?

This session discusses:

• How the evolution of communication technology creates new opportunities for faculty to do their work
• Ways that scholars can engage these new communicative platforms to advance their work
• How departments can use these technologies to bolster faculty, students, and overall department life
• Major media platforms, their media formats, their user demographics, and best practices.
