Call for Hosts: The QC Pod, 2022 – 2023 Season

We are preparing for another season of The QC Pod, a podcast about the Queens College community. This project has two goals: (1) to platform various elements of the Queens College community on the podcasting medium and (2) to create opportunities for students to learn and practice podcasting (and content creation more generally) in real-world projects. To hear the latest episode, ask your smart speaker to “Play the latest episode of the QC Pod”.

We are searching for students to host episodes in a series of podcast or YouTube Live interviews of Queens College students, faculty, and staff. You will help schedule and prepare for 20- to 60-minute interviews via Zoom, and then conduct the interview as an on-air personality. Our production team will then edit and distribute these interviews as polished podcast episodes.

At present, we are inviting people who want to try podcasting out for one episode. We will guide you through the process. If you like it, both the College and the City offer many opportunities to study and engage in professional development projects for careers related to mass communications, including marketing.

Through this experience, you have the opportunity to learn, practice, or experiment with:

  • How to arrange and prepare for interviews
  • How to create, produce, and distribute podcasts
  • How to operate websites and social media systems
  • How to promote content or events through the web and social media

We will list you on our website as a Team 2022 – 2023 participant (with edu links to your socials). You will receive creative credit for any content that you help create. Possibilities for for-credit internships, independent studies, and paid internships.
